Welcome to usebacademy.com (the "Website"). These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of our Website and the paid tutoring booking services provided by USEB Academy ("we", "us", or "our"). By booking a tutoring session or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Services

We provide pre-booked individual and group tutoring sessions. Sessions may be delivered online through video-conferencing tools (for example, Zoom or Google Meet) or onsite in a classroom.

USEB Academy is an independent platform and is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any university, government body, or official examination authority. Our materials are created to support student preparation and do not represent official university content.

2. Bookings and Payments

• Pre-payment: All tutoring sessions must be booked and paid for in full before the session start time. Unpaid bookings will not be confirmed or reserved.
• Pricing: Tutoring rates are displayed on our Website at the time of booking and include applicable taxes (for example, VAT) where required by law.
• Payment methods: Payments are processed securely by third-party providers such as Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details.

3. Cancellation, Refund, and Rescheduling Policy

3.1 General Refund Policy

Except where mandatory consumer law or section 4 below requires otherwise, purchases are final and non-refundable. Because limited time slots are reserved for each booking, we do not issue refunds for:

• Completed tutoring sessions
• Unused sessions, partial attendance, or student no-shows
• Cancellations made by the student under the contractual cancellation policy

3.2 EU Statutory Right of Withdrawal

EU consumers generally have a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from a distance service contract. If you ask for a session to begin before that period expires, you expressly request that performance begin during the withdrawal period.

If you validly withdraw after performance has begun but before the service has been fully performed, you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the service supplied before you informed us of your withdrawal. You lose the right of withdrawal only after the service has been fully performed, where you gave prior express consent to early performance and acknowledged that you would lose the right once the service was fully performed.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

3.3 Rescheduling

You may reschedule a session free of charge through your booking dashboard up to 24 hours before its start time. Requests made less than 24 hours before the start time are treated as late cancellations and the session fee is forfeited, subject to your mandatory statutory rights.

4. Provider Cancellations and Rescheduling

If we must cancel a session because of illness, technical failure, or an unforeseen emergency:

• We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible.
• We will offer you the choice of rescheduling at a mutually agreeable time or receiving a full refund for the affected session.

5. Attendance and Student Conduct

• Punctuality: Sessions start and end at the scheduled time. A student’s late arrival shortens the session without compensation or extension.
• Technical requirements: You are responsible for a stable internet connection, working microphone, and, where required, video camera. Time lost because of student-side technical issues is not refunded or made up.
• Behaviour: Respectful behaviour is required. We reserve the right to end a session immediately without a refund if a student is abusive, offensive, or inappropriate.

User responsibilities

You agree not to:

• Share your account credentials with others
• Misuse or abuse the platform or its features
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce platform content without permission
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the platform
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent platform security
• Upload illegal, harmful, or sensitive personal documents
• Attempt to bypass usage limits or access restrictions

6. Intellectual Property

All materials, worksheets, video content, and resources shared during tutoring sessions remain the exclusive intellectual property of USEB Academy. You may use them for personal learning only. Recording, selling, or distributing sessions or materials without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

7. Academic Outcomes, AI, and Limitation of Liability

Tutoring is designed to support academic learning, but we do not guarantee any specific grade, exam result, university admission, or other academic outcome. Admission decisions are made solely by the relevant institutions under their own criteria.

AI-powered features on USEB Academy may produce incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated content. AI output should be used only as a study-support tool, not as a definitive academic or medical reference. Always verify important information against official sources and academic materials.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable EU and national law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or technical failures outside our reasonable control arising from use of the services. Nothing excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

8. Changes to the Service and These Terms

USEB Academy may modify, suspend, or discontinue a feature or part of the platform. We will use reasonable means to notify users of significant changes. If we update these Terms, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. This choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections available under the law of your country of residence.

If you have a complaint, you may contact us first. EU consumers can find an appropriate out-of-court dispute-resolution body through the European Commission’s consumer-redress portal.
